Today, a large fire erupted at a 200' x 200' pallet yard in Downtown Los Angeles. The flames rapidly spread to another pallet yard and threatened nearby commercial buildings. According to a 02:33 AM update from the LAFD, most the fire load in the pallet yards had been consumed. Despite no official knockdown declared yet, the firefighting efforts were predicted to continue throughout the morning. The fire caused a complete closure of the 10 Freeway, rerouting traffic at Alameda and Santa Fe. On-site, LAFD PIO Firefighter David Ortiz provided updates to the media on the ensuing situation affecting Downtown Los Angeles residents.
