An immediate homicide investigation to was launched follow the grim discovery. According the Orange County Sheriff's Office statement on Twitter, Rucker's family have been notified of this tragic development.

Those involved in the case are focusing much of their attention on Cory Hill, Rucker's estranged husband, who was seen leaving a Polk County restaurant with her on the night she disappeared. Although Hill has not been directly implicated in Rucker's death nor charged, his refusal to collaborate with deputies on her disappearance, coupled with unrelated attempted murder charges holding him in Orange County jail, have raised eyebrows, Fox News reports.
Orange County Sheriff John Mina aims to provide more clarification on the case during a Sunday press conference.
