
Yesterday, a motorcyclist became a fatal victim of a hit-and-run collision in North Hills. A speeding white 1992 BMW was to blame, with its driver fleeing the scene on foot, leaving the vehicle behind.
According to the news release of LAPD PIO on their Twitter account, the motorcyclist, a man in his late 50s, died as a result of the reckless driving. His identity has not yet been made public.

In 2015, the Los Angeles City Council addressed this issue by forming the Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. This program offers up to $50,000 in rewards for information aiding hit-and-run crime resolution.
