On Saturday evening, October 28, an incident occurred in San Jacinto. After stepping off the sidewalk, a pedestrian found themselves in the path of an oncoming pickup truck on Lake Park Drive. The ensuing collision caused severe injuries to the pedestrian, who died days later, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Office.
Deputy Sergeant Patrick Lynch reported that the driver involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Substance abuse was ruled out in this case. The site was temporarily closed while the San Jacinto Sheriff's Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team initiated an investigation, gathering evidence and reconstructing the sequence of events.
The identity of the deceased pedestrian is currently under investigation. Authorities urge anyone possessing information about the incident to contact Corporal McQueeney at the San Jacinto Sheriff's Station or Riverside County Sheriff's Dispatch.
