A recent case in Riverside County, California, has spotlighted a young woman facing murder charges related to fentanyl distribution, which resulted in a lethal overdose. As detailed in a report from the Riverside County Sheriff's Office, earlier this year, on February 2, 27-year-old Jesse Jimenez was pronounced dead when he was found unresponsive. After investigations confirming fentanyl poisoning as the cause, 21-year-old Savanna Michelle Carlos was identified as the dealer of the fatal drug.
On October 24, Riverside County District Attorney's Office began an investigation that led to the discovery that Carlos was already behind bars at the Glen Helen Rehabilitation Center, serving time for unrelated charges. Carlos will be transferred to the Riverside Sheriff's Office for her impending murder charges once she is done with her San Bernardino sentence.
