Yesterday, a brush fire ignited in San Bernardino, California, quickly threatening local residences. The San Bernardino County Fire Department responded rapidly, successfully containing the fire within 30 minutes. However, their response was not without some toll; one firefighter suffered a leg fracture.
As reported on their Facebook page, fire crews arrived at a quarter-acre of vegetation in flames, propelled by high winds.
Working to limit the spread, firefighters dealt with challenging conditions, including large ember casts and flaming trees. They employed both perimeter control and structure defense tactics, securing surrounding homes from damage.
