Yesterday, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department carried out a set of sex registrant compliance check operations in Grand Terrace, Loma Linda, and the unincorporated region of San Bernardino. The main intent of these enforcement exercises is to track whether registered sex offenders are obeying the legal restrictions of their registration status as per an official department document.
The fundamental objective of the compliance checks is to verify the accuracy of data given by registered sex offenders, aiming to pursue individuals who have breached their legal duties. As such, this drive has taken a stand for making community-threatening individuals accountable and bringing charges against them through the San Bernardino County Office of the District Attorney.
In view of the requirement for public watchfulness, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department is pushing for anyone who comes across non-compliant sex offenders to report their findings. People can either dial the department's Central Station at (909) 387-3545 or submit anonymous tips to WeTip at 1-800-78-CRIME (27463), or on their website, wetip.com.
