A structure fire struck a three-story apartment building in the Pico-Robertson neighborhood of Los Angeles yesterday. The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) responded to a distress call around 2:13 p.m., reporting smoke emanating from the building's third floor at 1417 S Crest Dr, according to the LAFD Alert.
The investigation unveiled that the fire's origin lay within a pipe sweating operation on the ground floor, the flames of which subsequently climbed the walls of the building, as per an LAFD Update.
The blaze was successfully extinguished within 47 minutes after the initial call, with the help of 32 firefighters. Notably, no injuries were reported.
