
An upsetting incident occurred in Long Beach, California, on Thursday. A speeding car ran a stop sign, collided with a transit bus, causing it to crash into Boujie Crab, a local seafood restaurant, and injured 14 people as documented by FOX LA. Fortunately, the restaurant was not open when the collision happened, reducing the number of potential victims.
Security video captured the sedan driver at high speed running stop signs and tried braking, but it was too late. The force of the impact between the transit bus and the car propelled them into the building as reported by KTLA. Fire Department crews were quick to reach the accident site and aid the injured, comprising twelve bus passengers and two car occupants.
The Long Beach Police Department investigation reveals as many as ten people were sent to nearby hospitals while maintaining a stable condition. Injuries ranged from minor to serious as per FOX LA. It has not been confirmed whether pedestrians were impacted during the accident.
The crash resulted in the evacuation of two residents from the building’s second floor as per NBC Los Angeles. The Boujie Crab restaurant also suffered damage and will remain closed for repairs. Officials will continue their investigations to better understand the accident and guide future preventative measures.
