The Riverside County Sheriff's Office recently announced an arrest in relation to a series of armed robberies targeting Perris area restaurants. The official report indicates that the Perris Station Robbery Burglary Suppression Team (RBST) initiated an investigation following the robberies that occurred earlier this week. According to the official report, they apprehended Vicente Aranda, aged 47, on Wednesday after a brief pursuit.
Investigators identified Aranda as the suspect in the armed robberies through video surveillance footage, in which he was seen brandishing a handgun before fleeing in a white sedan. The Riverside Sheriff's Aviation Unit tracked and assisted in tracking down Aranda near Rider Street and Carroll Street in Mead Valley. Following a short car chase, he was arrested.
The suspect was arrested without incident and has since been booked on multiple felony charges at the Cois Byrd Detention Center. A search of Aranda's vehicle yielded a handgun and evidence linking him to the robberies. The efforts of the RBST in this investigation underscore the seriousness of such crimes.
Anyone with additional information is urged to call RBST Investigator Rooker at Riverside County Sheriff’s dispatch at (951) 776-1099 or the Perris Station at (951) 210-1000.
