On Thursday, a suspect initiated a shootout with DEA agents during a warrant service in the West Oak Cliff area of Dallas, resulting in an injury to the suspect according to NBC DFW. The DEA agents, although under fire, managed to evade injury.
During the warrant service at a residence on Searcy Street, agents faced gunfire from the suspect, who was trying to escape as per Fox 4 News report. After the gunfire exchange, agents provided first aid to the shot suspect before he was taken to a hospital for further medical attention. The current status of the injured suspect and details pertaining to the warrant have yet to be disclosed.
In proximity to the incident area, Maria Moreno Elementary School was placed on lockdown as a preventive action as reported by WFAA.
