On Thursday in Manchester Square, there was a major traffic collision that sent three people, including an infant, to a regional trauma center in a fight for life. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call at 1:32 p.m. at 1758 W. 83rd St. as chaos erupted following a brutal smash-up involving at least one vehicle and a pedestrian.
Initial reports by LAFD indicated a two-vehicle collision, but it was later clarified to involve at least a single vehicle that plowed to tragically collide near a bus stop. Among the injured were an adult male, an adult female, and an infant—their lives hanging precariously in the balance as they are right now being treated in critical condition.
According to the updated alert by LAFD, the incident occurred in the early afternoon, submerging the neighborhood in an aura of despair as first responders raced against the clock.
"*Correction* At least *one* vehicle involved, colliding with person(s) at or near a bus stop," the LAFD stated, revealing the initial mix-up in the rapidly developing situation. As the investigation unfolds, LAPD South Traffic Division has taken the lead in piecing together the moments that led to the uprooting so violently and the day-to-day life of the community—further details are pending, and media inquiries are directed towards them.
