Yesterday, a teenage girl was critically wounded during a shooting at the Dottie Lynn Recreation Center in Arlington, as Hoodline Dallas previously reported. The incident led to her hospitalization and the arrest of two other teens, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Officers arrived to the scene around 4:20 a.m. and found the girl in the closed pool area with a gunshot wound. She was immediately taken to the hospital where underwent surgery.
Investigators believe the victim and a group of teens entered the closed pool area by jumping the fence. At some point, shots were fired. However, it remains unclear what triggered the shooting and who fired the gun. An investigation into the matter is ongoing, as informed by the Dallas Morning News.
Following the incident, two teenagers - a male and a female - were taken into custody, suspected of criminal trespassing. The female also faces charges for unlawful possession of a firearm and evading arrest. Their identities remain undisclosed due to their minor status, with all currently held at the Tarrant County Juvenile Detention Center, according to NBC DFW.
Investigators have found a firearm at the scene and are currently trying to determine if it was the weapon utilized in the shooting. They are also investigating the other teens present at the shooting, as noted by the Dallas Morning News.
