Police in White Settlement, Texas, responded promptly to a reported threat on Sunday, disarming a suspect allegedly intending to engage in a shooting. Officers arrived before any harm could be done as reported by Fox 4 News
The White Settlement Police Department (WSPD) received a call about starting a shooting over a female friend dispute. Officers swiftly responded to the scene—a residential area on the 9200 block of Dale Lane—where they confronted the suspect at a victim's front door. Police reports described the individual as armed with an "assault rifle", a shotgun, and a handgun.
The WSPD officers managed to defuse the tense situation, compelling the armed suspect to surrender peacefully. No assault ensued. Now in police custody, the suspect's identity remains undisclosed, but the anticipated charges include unlawful carrying of a weapon, possession of a controlled substance, and making a terroristic threat.
White Settlement's Police Chief, Christopher Cook, commended his team's quick action, which likely prevented potential harm. Cook's views were aligned with the coverage provided by KWTX.
