Z Gallerie Bids Adieu to Brick-and-Mortar, Shifts Focus to Online SalesSource: Google Street View

Z Gallerie, the California-based furniture and home goods retailer, will shutter its nation-wide brick-and-mortar stores. According to the KTLA report published yesterday, the company will continue to retail its products online, maintaining its availability of home furnishings, art, and decor.

In an Instagram post, the company expressed gratitude to its customers, stating, "Thank you for shopping with our store teams over the years, you have inspired us." This abrupt announcement follows last month’s filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, attributing negative cash flow and considerable debt to the decision.

Established in 1979 by siblings Carole Malfatti and Joe and Mike Zeiden as a modest poster shop in Sherman Oaks, California, Z Gallerie eventually augmented its product line to sell stylish home furnishings, art, and decor. From its modest beginnings, the company has grown to recently operating 21 locations across nine states, with five stores in California as reported by KTLA.
