
About 60 firefighters were called into action last night when a blaze erupted within a second-story unit of an apartment complex on Via Amistosa in the City of Rancho Santa Margarita, battling flames as part of a two-alarm fire. The Orange County Fire Authority reported that the incident took place at around 8:25 p.m. and the spread of the fire was contained, sparing the rest of the complex from destruction.
Only one unit was affected. A statement on the Orange County Fire Authority's X acknowledged the crews' successful intervention. Additionally, firefighter-paramedics attended to one patient who ultimately declined transportation for further medical care.

The American Red Cross of Southern California stepped in to assist approximately 22 residents who felt the impact of the night's conflagration. "Thank you to @SoCal_RedCross for assisting approximately 22 residents who were impacted by the incident," the OC Fire Authority posted.
