According to a CBS News report, the incident began around 2 p.m. near the intersection of Tyrone Avenue and Sylvan Street as officers processed an individual for jail, discovering items in his possession that suggested the makings of an explosive device.
The discovery triggered an immediate response; local traffic was snarled as authorities worked quickly to assess the threat, this disruption was confirmed by an LAPD PIO X post cautioning the public to avoid the area due to police activity at the time.
