The economic landscape of Brooks, San Antonio is on an upswing with the influx of new jobs from the manufacturing sector. Simwon NA Corporation, a supplier to Tesla, is laying down roots with a 150,000-square-foot plant expected to open its doors within the next few years. Connie Gonzalez, Chief Strategy Officer at Brooks, highlighted the progress, “The South Korean company that’s coming to Brooks, that’s a supplier to Tesla, they are well underway with their construction. They’re building a 150,000-square-foot plant. And so we hope to see them opening their doors within the next year,” according to a KSAT report.

Beyond new players, established firms like Mission Solar Energy have been contributing to the region's growth for roughly a decade, employing around 110 people currently. According to the company's president, Sam Martens, Brooks offers an ideal hub for distribution, "We’re very centrally located. And so, you know, our customers are all across the United States. To be able to ship out from a central location is obviously a big advantage for us," Martens told KSAT

In addition to economic growth, there's an investment in human capital. Mission Solar Energy is collaborating with St. Philip’s College through the SolarJobs SA program. “The South Korean company that’s coming to Brooks, that’s a supplier to Tesla, they are well underway with their construction. More than 50 companies spanning an array of industries from medical to tech, job opportunities for a diverse skill set abound. Cuisine Solutions recently opened its largest plant in the area, promising over 500 jobs in the coming years. OKIN Process is slated to inject 1,400 jobs with its new U.S. headquarters based in Brooks. These growth indices were reported on by LiveBrooks.com.
