Houston's night of gunfire turned deadly when a 20-year-old man was killed and four others were left injured following a shootout in an after-hours club parking lot, with the Houston Police Department now scrambling to piece together the events that unfolded at 8627 Glenvista Street earlier this week.
In the early hours of Christmas Eve, witnesses told the authorities that Isaiah Parker and a group of individuals engaged in a gunfight with another group — the bullets didn't care who they found, and as Parker took the fatal shot, he stumbled out onto the Gulf Freeway service road where he was pronounced dead by paramedics, the Houston Fire Department later confirmed the tragic outcome of the night's exchanges.
Four other victims were swept away in civilian vehicles to various hospitals, their bodies also pierced with gunfire – the victims’ ages ranged from 17 to 19, including one female, according to the City of Houston news release.
Authorities, determined to understand the circumstances that led to the violence, openly admitted the motive behind the altercation remains a mystery, they also can't confirm whether the wounded were intended targets or merely casualties of the reckless bedlam – and now, HPD Homicide's own Sgt. A. Lopez alongside Detective N.
