Authorities in Clayton County have intensified the search for two missing women, both facing mental health challenges, who vanished in separate incidents. The Clayton County Police Department issued a Mattie's Call, an emergency missing alert for disabled or elderly persons, for 45-year-old Talisha Smith, who was last seen in late September.
Smith, who has been diagnosed with multiple personality disorders, went missing from the 5500 block of Rock Shoals Way in College Park. Described as 5 feet tall and weighing 116 pounds, her clothing at the time of her disappearance remains unknown. In an effort to gather any leads, the Clayton County Police Department is urging anyone with information on Smith's whereabouts to come forward, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta.
In a similar appeal, the same police department issued a Mattie's Call for 31-year-old Amethyst Reed, last seen walking along State Route 85 in Riverdale, pushing a shopping cart containing her belongings. Responding to the situation on December 8, officials became concerned due to Reed's diagnosis of bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.
Reed, described as being 5 feet, 5 inches tall, with a weight of 135 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes. Public participation is considered crucial in locating her, and Clayton County Police Department has asked anyone with potential information to make contact, as relayed by Atlanta News First.
In both cases, the heightened concern due to the women's mental health conditions amplifies the urgency of the calls for help. The police are requesting that anyone with information on the whereabouts of Ms. Talisha Smith or Ms. Amethyst Reed to call (770) 477-3550 or to dial 911 immediately.
