A Bartow County teen, Cesar Harris, has been missing since Thursday evening after he left his home north of Cartersville, prompting a widespread community search backed by local law enforcement. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the 15-year-old was last seen wearing a gray hoodie and black sweatpants and is the son of a Georgia State Patrol Trooper.
The search effort has included helicopters, dogs, and a host of community volunteers combing through woods, roads, and abandoned structures for any sign of the teen. He was reportedly seen in a nearby subdivision on Thursday around 7:40 p.m. on footage from a Ring camera, as stated by neighbors participating in the search effort, despite the fact that no leads have emerged since his disappearance. Christian Cruz, a community volunteer, highlighted the efforts, stating, "We're going into a lot of the wooded areas, hitting the trails, backyard sheds, just out here actively searching for him, all we can do," in a statement obtained by FOX 5 Atlanta.
Meanwhile, social media has become a tool where community members amplify the message along with personal appeals for the boy's safe return. Cesar's mother, Susie Harris, has asked for help on Facebook, while another member of the community invoked prayer in a post shared by Sportskeeda, "Praying in the mighty name of Jesus for 15-year-old Cesar Harris, from Adairsville, to be found. Lord send your warring angels to protect this child, and guide people to find him," wrote Kim Armstrong.
Concerns are particularly high due to the nature of the disappearance, with Brandy Hannah, a neighbor, describing Cesar's absence as "so out of character because he's such a great kid. He's always willing to help anybody," as she told FOX 5 Atlanta, while journalist Kaitlyn Ross shared on Facebook that Cesar is known for his kindness, mentioning his assistance with Christmas decorations the morning before he went missing. The Bartow County Sheriff's deputies and GSP continue their search but still, no sign of Cesar has been discovered. Anyone with information about Cesar Harris's whereabouts is encouraged to contact his mother, Susie Harris, at the provided number.
