The National Weather Service (NWS) Fort Worth has issued a forecast indicating mostly sunny skies today with a comfortable high near 64 degrees and east winds that could occasionally gust up to 20 mph. However, the weather is poised to take a dreary turn with a 20% chance of rain after 3 a.m. tonight and a low of around 47 degrees.

As we approach Friday, the forecast is less forgiving. Expect a 90% probability of rain showers and potential thunderstorms between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., with the possibility of continued rainfall into the evening. Temperatures are set to take a dip as well, only reaching a high near 52 degrees. In terms of precipitation, Dallas could see new rainfall amounts between three-quarters and one inch, according to the National Weather Service.

Moving into the weekend, the outlook begins to clear up. Saturday's forecast presents partly sunny conditions, with a cooler high near 56 and a northerly wind chill factor, thanks to 10 to 15 mph winds and possible gusts as high as 20 mph. By Sunday, the city should bask in full sunshine and a high near 61, perfect weather to close out the weekend.

Thunderstorms may develop late Thursday night, particularly west of Highway 281. From Friday morning through Friday night, isolated thunderstorms are a possibility, mainly for areas south of I-20. These storms could bring their fair share of lightning, posing a risk that residents should be aware of. As of yet, spotters have not been called into action.

Looking further ahead to next week, the Dallas area will likely enjoy mostly sunny days with highs hovering around the 60s but do keep a jacket handy, as evening temperatures are expected to drop to the low 40s and upper 30s, so layering is key for those chillier nights.
