
In a swift response to a reported theft, Fairfield's finest arrested a man accused of shoplifting at a local mall, proving that increased patrols in the area might be paying off. The Fairfield, CA, Police Department took to social media to relate the details of the apprehension, announcing that on December 8, at approximately 8:05 p.m. They were alerted by an associate from a retail store about a suspect, later identified as 33-year-old Davone Bracy, according to the Fairfield Police Department.
Officer W. Smith, who responded to the call, spotted the man attempting to exit the store and proceed towards the mall's dining court. Upon attempting to make contact, Bracy reportedly shunned the officer and decided to run for it. Undeterred, Officer Smith pursued the suspect through the crowded mall, ultimately catching up and detaining him after a brief chase.
A subsequent records check revealed that Bracy was wanted on two outstanding warrants, adding to the charges he would face. The stolen merchandise was recovered, marking a small victory for the retailer and local law enforcement efforts.
Following the chase and recovery of the stolen goods, Bracy was transported and booked into the county jail, where he awaits prosecution for his alleged crimes.
