The spirit of giving is taking a legal twist in Fort Worth this holiday season. The Municipal Court has rallied to the call of the festive period with a duo of activities designed to bring cheer to those without a roof over their heads. In a heartwarming display of community outreach, the court has started a drive to collect personal-care items essential for the homeless community during the biting cold of winter. The collected goods are destined for the Presbyterian Night Shelter and True Worth Place. Locals can join the cause by dropping off donations at the A.D. Marshall Public Safety Building, 1000 Throckmorton St., with the goodwill window staying open through December 15, as per the City of Fort Worth.
But the court's holiday spirit isn't limited to tangible donations. They've also got some seasonal fun planned, set for noon to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, at the Courts Building. Visitors will have an opportunity to snap holiday photos with festive icons such as Santa Claus, Mr. Grinch, and Bumble the Abominable Snowman from "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer." Additionally, refreshments will be served at this event sponsored by the Fort Worth Municipal Court and the Fort Worth Marshal’s Association.
Court Director William F. Rumuly lauded his staff's initiative, saying, "This is another great outreach event by Fort Worth Municipal Court staff to show how much they want to help and serve this community. I am so thankful to work alongside this staff every day and for their hearts for this community."
