
A hail of gunfire in a Sun Valley neighborhood left one woman dead and a man critically injured early Saturday morning on Lorne Street, just west of Vineland Avenue. As reported by the Los Angeles Police Department, it was revealed that officers discovered two shooting victims, a male and a female, both with gunshot wounds, after responding to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital by paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department, the female victim did not survive. The LAPD stated the male victim was treated with surgery and is expected to pull through.

The pair were walking to their vehicle at approximately 1:20 a.m. when a dark-colored sedan rolled up, as described by the authorities. From within the confines of the car, an unidentified suspect unleashed multiple rounds at the victims. The suspects, who were only described as males with light brown skin, managed to escape and have not been apprehended. Having fled the scene, the suspect vehicle's details are still being sought by detectives.
