High-Speed Chase Ends Unexpectedly in Houston with Suspect Arrested and Surprise Discovery of Naked Woman in Car

A wild police chase through the streets of Houston came to a climactic end when a suspect ditched a possibly stolen car and took to the woods on foot, only to be nabbed by law enforcement. The high-speed pursuit, initiated during a felony stop near Lockwood Drive at Laura Koppe Road on Friday afternoon, eventually halted on Kuykendahl Road at Ella Blvd, FOX 26 Houston reported.

The chase, which barreled across major highways and local roads, saw the cunning driver perform risky maneuvers, including squeezing between vehicles and for instance, driving on the wrong side of the road. "Today, we were very fortunate," HPD Lt. Larry Crowson said in an interview with FOX 26 Houston. "We had our helicopter and the DPS helicopter overhead. That allows the officers to slow down and back off the suspect. Usually, the suspect slows down at that point. It's much safer for the officers and the officers."

After a near-collision at E Richey Road and I-45, with law enforcement attempting a PIT maneuver, the intense chase slowed when the suspect bailed leaving the white SUV idle in the roadway. ABC13 reported an HPD chopper played an integral role in the chase's resolution. A tow truck driver at the scene relayed to FOX 26 Houston that upon opening the vehicle, a naked woman unexpectedly emerged, stating, "The cops told me to unlock the car and to get inside to do inventory," Benjamin Hurtado recounted. "As soon as I popped the locks, a naked lady popped out of a vehicle. She was butt naked, man. That was a first."

Authorities confirmed that the woman found in the car was safe and was taken home, facing no charges. The chase's extraordinary conclusion garnered significant attention from bystanders and local businesses, with Yury Gomez telling FOX 26 Houston, "I was really nervous because I was thinking he got really, really close to my mom’s taco truck. I got really, really nervous." The suspect, who has yet to be named, was arrested and seen receiving medical treatment in an HPD cruiser, according to footage from ABC13's SkyEye. Charges are pending as the investigation continues.
