In South Dairy Ashford, a car wreck took place in the early morning around 4:35 a.m., when a Toyota Camry struck roadside trees.
Speeding down the 9000 block, the vehicle flew from the roadway, colliding head-on with a tree. Houston police confirmed to the City of Houston's official email updates that the 21-year-old female driver, whose identity is being withheld until family is notified, was forcefully ejected from the car, which proceeded to strike a second tree. The impact was so severe it ripped the car asunder.
In a statement obtained by the City of Houston's email correspondence, HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Alejandro, alongside Officer Mathews, described the scene where Houston Fire Department medics pronounced the young woman deceased on-site.
This case is still under investigation.
