Earlier today, at approximately 2:15 a.m., what began as a routine traffic stop escalated into a harrowing incident that resulted in a Harris County constable's deputy sustaining serious injuries following a shocking rollover crash. The calamity transpired on Beamer Road in southeast Houston when an SUV collided with the deputy's patrol vehicle during the traffic stop, as reported by FOX 26 Houston.
Trapped within the twisted metal confines of his cruiser, the deputy awaited urgent rescue. Houston firefighters, always ready to face danger, successfully extracted the wounded officer, as reported by FOX 26 Houston. Admitted to a local hospital with back and neck injuries, the constable may still be contending with broken bones but is thankfully in stable condition.
Houston Police Department officers, upon arrival, witnessed the aftermath of the collision, with both the constable and the other driver remaining on the scene. While the driver's condition was checked by paramedics and determined to be unscathed, police have yet to confirm whether there were any intoxicants involved, Click2Houston reports.
The names of the parties involved in the crash are being withheld as the investigation is ongoing.
