A man from Harris County has been convicted of assault charges after an altercation on Friday that led to a physical confrontation with law enforcement. According to FOX26 Houston, the suspect identified as 32-year-old Kevin Robicheaux is accused of assaulting a peace officer.

Responding to a disturbance call on the 7000 block of Foxvalley Drive, deputies were met with an attempted escape by Robicheaux. "Court documents stated that Robicheaux assaulted a peace officer by pulling the peace officer's body with his hand, causing the peace officer's head to hit a metal staircase, causing pain and visible injuries," FOX26 Houston reported.

The situation escalated quickly when deputies attempted to apprehend Robicheaux who had involvement in the disturbance. The Click2Houston states that the suspect was eventually detained after the short pursuit.

Robicheaux reportedly put up a struggle as deputies tried to detain him. "Robicheaux resisted and assaulted a constable deputy while they were trying to detain him," the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office disclosed to Click2Houston. He is now charged with assault on a peace officer and his bond was set at $50,000.
