A fierce garage fire caused chaos in Spring Valley Lake, alarming residents and prompting firefighters to take action. On November 28, smoke filled the sky, signaling trouble at a home on Mountain Meadows Drive and Bermuda Dunes Road, according to San Bernardino County Fire Protection District.
Firefighters from the high desert rushed to the scene and discovered a blazing garage that had spread into the house and attic. The thick smoke made it impossible to seek refuge, as detailed in a previous report from the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District.
Firefighters managed to limit the fire to the garage, a nearby room, and the attic, though the home had smoke and heat damage. The family got out before the firefighters arrived, so they were safe. Teams from Victorville City, Apple Valley Fire District, and San Bernardino County Fire supported themselves with their own equipment. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
