
A tragic crash on Cobb Parkway claimed the life of a Kansas City woman Monday night and left two others with serious injuries. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the accident occurred around 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of Cobb Parkway and Black Acre Trail in Acworth, Georgia when a Hyundai Santa Fe was struck by a Jeep Grand Cherokee as it turned.
The driver of the Jeep, a 36-year-old man from Powder Springs, complained of an injury subsequent to the collision but did not require hospitalization while the Hyundai, containing four individuals, was hit on the passenger side causing it to flip over and resulting in serious injuries to the occupants who were all transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, officers from the Cobb County Police Department revealed. Unfortunately, 50-year-old Angela Smith from Kansas City was one of those passengers and later died despite efforts to save her life.
As reported by FOX4KC, the two other injured passengers, residents of KCK like Smith, have been hospitalized with serious injuries, the authorities are still investigating the crash and it remains unclear if charges will be filed against anyone involved in the incident.
