Los Angeles is on high alert as authorities hunt for 32-year-old Klinton Allister Dion, charged with a surge of anti-Semitic acts across Burbank and Glendale. Dion, described as "transient" by Hoodline, is wanted for vandalism offenses that have left a scar on the community, targeting locations from Temple Emanu El to city utility boxes.
Known to drift between several LA-area cities, including Pasadena and Los Angeles, Dion stands out with a faint tattoo above his left eyebrow. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office has taken a strong stance against the defacement, with DA George Gascón stating, "The escalating wave of anti-Semitic attacks against the Jewish community will not be tolerated, in Los Angeles County," as reported by the DA's media relations division. Dion is facing two counts of vandalism of religious property—hate crime—and 10 counts of hate crime—displaying a Nazi symbol, etc.
If convicted of the charges, which include drawing swastikas and Iron Crosses in multiple public and private areas, Dion could face up to 20 years in state prison. The District Attorney's office has requested that Dion be held on $650,000 bail; however, the court set bail at $65,000.
The Burbank and Glendale police departments are investigating the case and urge anyone with information regarding Dion's whereabouts to come forward. They also encourage reporting any crimes of hate by calling 911, and hate incidents can be reported through Los Angeles County’s LA vs. Hate hotline at 2-1-1, with details provided by da.lacounty.gov. Dion's alleged spree of vandalism poses a stark attack on the religious harmony within these communities, an act that has mobilized a concerted effort for justice.
