
Lewisville's mayoral and city council seats are up for grabs and residents seeking to join the 2024 election fray can start throwing their hats in the ring starting mid-January, it's the Mayor's seat and City Council Place 2 that hopeful contenders are eyeing as they prepare to march down to City Hall to file their candidacies.
Would-be mayoral candidates must reside within Lewisville's corporate limits. They're looking to secure votes from the entire populace, while their City Council counterparts aiming for Place 2 need to be residents of their respective districts however, everyone gets a shot at wooing voters across the city come election.
Incumbent Mayor TJ Gilmore and Council member William Meridith might soon find themselves defending their turf or passing the torch. Candidates have from January 17 to February 16 to make their intentions official. The key dates and locations are set: early voting begins on April 22, pushing towards the Election Day climax on May 4.
Hopeful candidates are directed to Lewisville City Hall, located at 151 W. Church Street, to submit their paperwork, which the City Secretary will accept during normal business hours, between Monday and Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and wrapping up the week with a shorter window on Fridays, from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m, according to the City of Lewisville, Texas.
