Officers from the South Division of the Long Beach Police Department nabbed a male suspect yesterday who was caught shoplifting and found packing heat. The essential detail of this arrest is the recovered firearm, an unexpected bonus to an already commendable police intervention.
The Long Beach PD took to Facebook to commend the South Division, stating, "Great job South Division! Today, officers detained a male adult suspect who had just shoplifted and recovered a firearm on him." The suspect, beyond the immediate crime of shoplifting, was also recognized by assisting officers as allegedly the same individual involved in a robbery earlier in the day.
The identity of the suspect remains undisclosed as investigations are ongoing.
