The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is sending out a warning to beachgoers at several local beaches. Due to elevated bacteria levels found during the latest water quality tests, the department is advising against swimming, surfing, or playing in the ocean waters at Mothers Beach in Marina Del Rey.
In a bulletin released on December 26, the department clearly stated that these warnings come directly on the heels of test results showing bacterial counts cresting beyond what's deemed safe.
