Blazes ripped through a single-family dwelling in Boyle Heights, challenging Los Angeles firefighters as the flames quickly spread to at least two other structures. The Los Angeles Fire Department reported a heavy fire showing from the residence located at 2731 E. Winter St. on December 10. Firefighters were seen actively battling the inferno in an offensive mode to control and extinguish the blaze that erupted in the early evening.
According to the LAFD's alert, the fire incident, designated as INC#1314, was first reported at approximately 4:54 PM. Fire Station 2, along with other units, responded to the emergency in the Central Bureau's jurisdiction. The situation was intense as the flames could spread, putting adjacent buildings at significant risk.
The exertions of the Los Angeles Fire Department bore fruit when, after a swift and decisive attack, they managed to knock down the fire by 5:10 PM, as noted in a separate LAFD alert. A team of 28 firefighters achieved this feat within a commendable time span of 16 minutes, successfully averting what could have escalated into a more catastrophic event. During the fire suppression efforts, firefighters also concentrated on defending the exposures while subduing the flames.
No injuries were reported from the incident, a piece of news that comes as a relief amidst the chaos. A back house of approximately 500 square feet was found to be fully involved, with the fire encroaching on three sides.
