Firefighters were dispatched to 1000 W Sunset Boulevard following reports of a fire, as confirmed by LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey. According to officials, the fire was showing in a two-story structure that had been previously hit by fires, prompting crews to engage in defensive firefighting operations.
The LAFD Alert noted the time of the incident as 07:32 AM. Firefighting teams from stations including Battalion 1, with support from multiple engine and rescue companies, worked to contain the fire. "Defensive firefighting operations at a vacant and boarded two-story office building, the site of previous fires, that has fire showing," Humphrey stated in the alert. The combined efforts of these units, including E3, E4, and RA803, among others, were essential in the execution of a strategy to subdue the flames and prevent further damage to the surrounding locale.
No injuries have been reported in the incident. The LAFD also confirmed that additional resources, such as Squad 21 and Task Forces 3 and 20, responded to the scene. The cause of the fire at the office building, which has remained unoccupied for an undetermined amount of time, is still under investigation.
