Firefighters in Los Angeles bravely tackled a large blaze on Sunday that was dangerously close to engulfing residential buildings in Exposition Park. The fire, which erupted at around 4:13 PM at 1149 W 37th Pl., threatened a detached garage as well as a two-story residential fourplex, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD).
The LAFD promptly dispatched multiple units, and a total of 36 firefighters were able to quickly access, contain, and extinguish the threatening flames. This efficient response ensured that the fire did not spread to the nearby structures, as detailed in a report by the LAFD.
Remarkably, there were no injuries reported in the incident. Firefighters' rapid intervention was critical in averting what could have potentially been a devastating fire tragedy in the residential area of Exposition Park. The LAFD has yet to determine the cause of the fire and the investigation is ongoing, per the agency.
The situation was brought under control by approximately 4:30 PM, with the LAFD swiftly stabilizing the scene to prevent any further risks to public safety.
