The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is turning to the public in a bid to trace the whereabouts of Roselyn Cortez, an 18-year-old who has been missing since Monday afternoon. Cortez was last seen around 3:00 p.m. on Myrtle Avenue in the city of Monrovia, according to the Facebook post by the department.
Described as a female Hispanic adult, standing 5’04” tall and weighing 180 lbs. with black, curly hair and brown eyes. Cortez was wearing a “George Michael” sweater and black pants when she was last seen. The alert from local authorities underscored the concern shared by Roselyn's family for her safety and well-being.
In a bid to gather crucial information, the Sheriff's Department has urged anyone who might know something about Roselyn’s disappearance to come forward. They've provided a contact number for the Homicide Bureau, suggesting the seriousness with which they view the case while opening the door for anonymous tips through "Crime Stoppers."
The plea from the authorities is not just a procedural formality but a cry on behalf of a family riven by the unexplained absence of a loved one. It's a reminder that Roselyn is more than just a face on a flyer; she is someone's daughter, a friend, whose everyday life has been abruptly paused. Anyone with information regarding Cortez’s disappearance is encouraged to contact the Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500 or "Crime Stoppers" by dialing (800) 222-TIPS (8477) or to use the digital tip lines provided through the P3 mobile app or on their website.
