A man was fatally shot in San Pedro, and now detectives are on the hunt for the gunman, the Los Angeles Police Department reported. The male Hispanic victim, in his 40s, was declared dead at the scene by paramedics, while two others were wounded in the late-night violence that erupted on December 10.
The LAPD arrived shortly after midnight, responding to reports of gunfire on the 1100 block of South Palos Verde Street, where they found not one but two victims, a 45-year-old Hispanic woman and another man aged approximately 50, both suffering from gunshots, the LAPD Newsroom indicated. The woman was rushed to a nearby hospital and is said to be stable, as is the second male victim, who managed to get to the hospital by private means before the authorities arrived.
The identity of the deceased, a stark reminder of the violence that grips the streets, remains undisclosed, pending formal identification by the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office. The LAPD appeals for public assistance to trace the suspect responsible for the shootings, urging anyone with information to step forward.
Witnesses or those with knowledge of the incident can contact the South Bureau Homicide Division, and anonymous tips are also welcomed through the LA Regional Crime Stoppers online portal or their “P3 Tips” mobile app, the police department's appeal went, citing various methods for the public to provide potentially crucial leads that could help them catch the suspect and prevent future tragedies.
