In a string of misfortunes right before the holidays, Napa County's wayward four-legged residents found themselves in a bit of a pickle – several local pets have been reported lost and turned into the local shelter between December 21 and 26. Among the misplaced critters is Peaches, a female Domestic Longhair brought in on December 21, and a nameless Border Collie of unknown sex that ended up in the shelter the day after Christmas.
They're not alone in their unexpected holiday excursion. Chico, a 6-year-old American Pit Bull, and another nameless male Domestic Longhair, this one clocking in at 3 years and 12.6 pounds on the scale, entered the shelter on December 22 and 21, respectively. The list continues with Chappo, an Australian Cattledog with 1 year and 5 months under his belt and a weight of 46.5 lbs found on December 21, and another male Australian Cattledog just a year old who was turned in on Christmas Day.
For those who prefer their companions of the more hoppy variety, a male Mini Lop rabbit, aged 6 months, found its way into the shelter on December 23. And, an unnamed Belgian Malinois puppy, barely 4 months old and already 33.6 lbs, along with a male New Zealand rabbit, 1 year of age, were found on December 21. All these animals were logged in the Napa County lost and found pet database as the shelter seeks to reunite them with their worried owners.
Should any denizens of the Napa area recognize these pets, they are encouraged to contact the shelter.
