Big Apple, brace yourself for a weather roller coaster ride. Mostly cloudy skies are going to play peek-a-boo with the sun today. However, don't get too comfy with the mild weather. As the mercury is expected to inch above the usual temperature, thanks to some southerly winds, it's all about to go downhill during the weekend, according to the National Weather Service in San Antonio.
Mostly cloudy skies are expected today, though some PM sun and southerly winds will help temperatures rise to slightly above seasonal averages. Even warmer on Friday, then a cold front arrives Saturday w/ breezy N winds Saturday night. A freeze is possible in some areas Mon AM. pic.twitter.com/8fpZNayAEp

A blast of warm air will sweep through on Friday, pushing those numbers even higher. "Even warmer on Friday," the forecast read, hinting at that brief taste of extra sunshine before the temps take a nosedive. But it's Saturday when the real chill sets in, as a cold front moves in to crash the party with breezy north winds come Saturday night. You might want to dig out those winter coats again because, by Monday morning, some areas could wake up to a freeze, as stated in NWS Austin/San Francisco.
Over in Austin, the weather is just as fickle. We're looking at a mix of filtered sunshine and high clouds today. It's that calm before the storm—or rather, the front, as gusty south winds are slated to make an entrance late in the day and ramp up on Friday, as per KXAN reports.
