According to FOX 5 Atlanta, an argument among three men erupted into violence around 1 a.m. Friday on Piedmont Avenue, between Auburn and John Wesley Dobbs Avenues. The confrontation escalated quickly, with shots fired and two young men in their early 20s struck by the gunfire.
The dead victim, tragically succumbing to his wounds, stumbled across the street before he collapsed. As reported by Atlanta News First, the police responded to the scene at 92 Piedmont Avenue shortly after midnight. The second victim was swiftly transported to Grady Memorial Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
Authorities from the Atlanta Police Department have apprehended a suspect, described as being in his early 20s. Officers investigating the case indicated that none of the individuals involved in the shooting incident are currently enrolled at Georgia State University, despite the incident's proximity to the campus grounds.
