Cottonwood Art Festival and Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival have been given top honors, racking up a total of 29 accolades at the statewide Texas Festivals & Events Association (TFEA) Conference held in mid-November. Among the myriad of categories in this promotional throwdown, Richardson bagged awards across the board for their festival marketing might, according to the City of Richardson, Texas.
Strutting down the winner's lane, the Cottonwood Art Festival secured a shower of gold medals for their marketing prowess, which include top nods for their video promotions, digital presence, and even their festival threads. "For more than 50 years, the City of Richardson has continued to create cultural, artistic, and other signature events for the community to bring their families and friends to experience," Yvonne Falgout, Richardson Parks and Recreation Director, said. This annual marketing rodeo pitted Richardson against various Texas events, but they managed to not only become finalists but also to bring home the gold, per the City of Richardson, Texas.
The Cottonwood Festival, a biannual juried art show, stands tall among the top 10 fine art events in the nation, according to the Art Fair Source Book. It's held in May and October, transforming Cottonwood Park into a haven for art aficionados.
It's not only about static art displays, though; music and movement found their champions with the Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival, which nabbed its bouquet of honors, including gold for the best event video promotion and best radio promotion. And while we're on the subject of pedal to the metal, let's slide into the fact that the festival also won for the best Instagram site, which certainly helped to 'best' amplify its reach to the bevies of festival-goers eager for that live tune fix.
The Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival, starting back in '93, is a three-day extravaganza packed with five stages of non-stop entertainment. There's nothing quite like soaking in the tunes at Galatyn Park Urban Center when the Texas sky decides to serenade with its very own star-studded backdrop. It looks like Richardson's dedication to its festivals did more than catch the eye—it snagged a string of awards, no less.
