In a decisive move to solidify leadership within the County of Riverside's electoral process, the Board of Supervisors anchored Art Tinoco in the permanent role of Registrar of Voters this week, after two months of his interim stewardship, as reported by RivCo.org. The key position, which had been temporarily assigned, now gains stability under Tinoco's seasoned guidance.
Board Chair Kevin Jeffries heralded the decision, saying, "After conducting a recruitment, it became clear that we could rely on Art to continue leading the department into the future," addressing the complexity of Tinoco's task, which not only covers myriad elections but is also steering the department toward swifter results and stronger community involvement and trust. Tinoco, with eight years as an assistant under his belt and over two decades within the office, embarks on the next chapter of safeguarding democratic fundamentals in Riverside County, where the voter landscape comprises roughly 1.3 million people, all needing to be held in the secure embrace of an election system they can trust.
Upon the sealing of his appointment, Art Tinoco shared, "Voting is fundamental to our democracy, and I am honored to do this work on behalf of all of our residents," indicating his anticipation of the impending 2024 presidential elections and his commitment to voter accessibility for all eligible Riverside County constituents.
