Shoplifters and thieves got caught in a sting as Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies teamed up with loss prevention pros to crack down on retail crime. In an operation that put six suspects behind bars, authorities took a stand against the criminal theft plaguing Lake Elsinore businesses.

On Tuesday, the deputies embarked on an enforcement sweep targeting suspects involved in shoplifting and other theft-related offenses. This crackdown unfolded in the bustling 29000 block of Central Avenue, where police and store staff worked in conjunction to halt the spree of retail thefts.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office announced that those arrested include individuals like Joseph Gordon, a 34-year-old local caught for shoplifting and violating probation. Patrick Graham, 54, and Lilia Navarro, 57, both nabbed for burglary and conspiracy. Others, such as Kellie Nelson, 41, and Ashley McMillan, 38 were taken in on narcotics-related misdemeanor warrants. Rounding out the list is Robert Ruiz, 42, cuffed for burglary alongside six additional felony warrants.

As reported by the Riverside County Sheriff's Office, the operation was part of a year-round initiative to preserve the safety and security of the community's commerce.

Authorities are calling on the public to maintain the "Community Policing" ethos, urging locals to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behavior.
