In a routine traffic stop turned drug bust, San Bernardino deputies nabbed a man with enough meth to spark a small epidemic in Victorville last week. On the afternoon of December 13, Juan Velazco, a 33-year-old who traveled from Mexico, was stopped for a moving violation and found himself in cuffs when deputies uncovered a heap of narcotics.
Deputy Williams and Deputy Duenas, noticing a box during the stop at the intersection of Civic Drive and Roy Rogers Drive, ended up stumbling upon approximately 50 large bags filled with suspected methamphetamine. Contained within the vehicle of Velazco, the deputies allegedly located this substantial amount of drugs.
Law enforcement took Velazco, pinpointed as a Sinaloa, Mexico resident, to the High Desert Detention Center, where he faces charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell and transportation for the sale of methamphetamine. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department press release, his bail was set at a stiff $1,000,000.
The Sheriff's Department, urging anyone with potentially useful information about the investigation to contribute, has opened multiple channels for the public to reach out, including a line at the Hesperia Police Department and the Sheriff’s Dispatch. For those who prefer confidentiality, the We-Tip Hotline remains available.
Reference for this incident was made to Deputy Williams and Deputy Duenas of the Hesperia Police Department, who are both points of contact for this case numbered 192308573. Further details and the opportunity to leave tips online are provided on the official website through a press release published on December 18th.
