In a swift response to a fatal shooting that occurred over the weekend, Sandy Springs police arrested two suspects for felony murder. The ordeal began with a person-shot call to the 8600 block of Roberts Drive last Friday afternoon, where officers found the body of a deceased individual, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta.
A "Be On the Lookout" alert for a white Chevrolet Equinox led officers to conduct a traffic stop off GA Hwy 400. The vehicle's three occupants were detained and questioned by the Sandy Springs Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division. During this process, the attempted escape by two women and a man was witnessed by bystanders after the shooting, a detail later confirmed by Rough Draft Atlanta.
Among those arrested was Devontay Trimell Coleman, a 28-year-old Atlanta resident charged with felony murder, among other offenses. Coleman was identified sitting in the front passenger seat of the suspect vehicle, his garments marked by what appeared to be blood. He initially provided authorities with false identification.
Investigations continue as detectives seek the motive behind the confrontation, which escalated to the shooting death of 19-year-old Aden Stone, who was found with a fatal chest wound, with Sandy Springs Police remaining discreet about the identities of those arrested and witness contributions to the inquiry.
