The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department announced on Tuesday, that Oscar Eduardo Flores Sorta, a 13-year-old boy who had been reported missing since Saturday, has been found. The authorities had issued an urgent appeal to the public seeking assistance to locate the teenager, emphasizing the critical nature of his disappearance.
Oscar, described as a Hispanic male, 5’06” and 160lbs with black hair and brown eyes, was last spotted on the 900 block of South Downey Road in the City of East Los Angeles. Clad in a gray sweatshirt paired with black denim pants, black shoes, and a black backpack, his appearance was etched into the community's awareness as search efforts intensified.
An outpouring of gratitude was extended by the Sheriff’s Information Bureau to the public, the media, the Aero Bureau, and deputy personnel for their "tireless efforts in the search for Oscar."
In the announcement discovered on Nixle, Sheriff Robert G. Luna thanked all who spread the word and contributed to this positive outcome. Prior to being found, authorities had encouraged anyone with information to contact the Sheriff's Department, or to remain anonymous, to reach out to "Crime Stoppers."
