
Flames gutted a carport and a fleet of cars in Tustin last night in what officials are calling a fiery scene from hell. The Orange County Fire Authority took to Twitter to chronicle the blaze that saw 35 firefighters battling the inferno on the 1400 block of Walnut Ave around 8:45 PM. As per a post from the fire authority, the fire savagely consumed the carport and about 13 vehicles, though miraculously, no injuries were reported.
Tustin - at approx 8:45 PM tonight, 35 OCFA firefighters responded to the 1400 block of Walnut Ave & found a well involved carport & multiple vehicles on fire. OCFA firefighters valiantly kept the flames from spreading to an adjacent apartment building. The damage to the structure amounted to a hefty $150k, while vehicles and property tucked inside the carport suffered an approximate $300k in losses. Running into the night, the cause of the fire is still lurking in the shadows, remaining under investigation, as the OCFA indicated in a subsequent post on X.

An investigation is currently peeling back the layers of this event to unearth the spark of origin. The OCFA has yet to comment on potential leads.
